Introduction
Riverside County Department of Public Health serves both rural and suburban areas of the greater Riverside County. Our laboratory is most acclaimed for our TB Reference Lab, infectious disease testing and HIV confirmation. In addition, we run a satellite lab in Indio, California which focuses on water testing.
Essential Tests and Referral Services
Confirmatory testing services are available to the local medical community. These include procedures for syphilis, HIV, bacterial identification, and TB culture identification and susceptibility testing. The Public Health Laboratory acts as the official channel in referring infectious disease organisms to the State Department of Health Services Laboratory and to the Centers for Disease Control Laboratory.
Fees are charged for certain services. Please contact the Public Health Laboratory for specific information and a list of tests performed. Refer to the website for a complete list of services and costs, http://www.rivcoph.org/lab.htm
