About Us
The Shasta County Public Health Laboratory is a state-of-the-art regional facility dedicated to protecting the health of communities. It is the Public Health reference laboratory for Shasta, Modoc, Siskiyou, Lassen, Tehama, Glenn, and Eastern Trinity Counties. Our facility has advanced and specialized testing capabilities to detect agents of infectious disease and other threats to public health. The laboratory is staffed with highly trained, experienced, and California State certified Public Health Microbiologists and support staff.
Referral Services and Essential Tests
Shasta County Public Health Laboratory provides clinical and reference testing utilizing sophisticated, state-of-the-art technology. Laboratory services provided include:
- Bacteriology testing and typing
- Tuberculosis Testing
- Rabies Testing
- HIV Testing
- Sexually Transmitted Disease Testing
- Water Testing
- West Nile Virus Testing
- Respiratory Virus Testing
