About Us
The Contra Costa Public Health Laboratory is located in Martinez in central Contra Costa County on the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center campus. The laboratory provides diagnostic services to the County's Public Health Programs and also serves as the reference laboratory for the Medical Center's Clinical Laboratory providing bacteriology, immunology, parasitology, virology, mycobacteriology, mycology and molecular diagnostic services. The laboratory also provides environmental, animal, and food and water testing services for the County's Environmental Health, Animal Control, and Vector Control programs. The laboratory provides extensive services in the diagnosis of hepatitis, tuberculosis and AIDS including virus detection and quantification, genotyping, anti-mycobacterial drug susceptibility testing and HIV anti-viral resistance testing.
